The challenge

Pocket FM is a pioneering audio storytelling platform that reaches millions of listeners across the globe with its audio series. Its many shows span genres from romance and drama to horror, and together they form a library of over 100,000 hours of content.

With listeners spending an average of 110 minutes each day listening to the company’s content, there is a pressing need for high-quality work at a demanding pace. The raw scripts, which had been translated in English, needed work to make them compelling for a US audience.

The solution

Picket FM brought us on board to copyedit and localise a wide range of audio scripts.

  • We edited and localised up to 1.5 million words of audio per month.
  • We worked on all aspects of the stories, such as plot, pace and characterisation, to hook listeners.
  • We co-ordinated a team of up to 15 editors based across multiple time zones in the US and Europe to provide round-the-clock delivery of editing services. 
  • We kept up-to-date localisation sheets to ensure consistency across all episodes of shows, which typically ran to several thousand episodes.
